What an exciting time to start training for a marathon! Even with colder temperatures and often snowy streets, watching the Olympic Games has proven to be a strong motivator for me. Seeing the atheletes get in the zone and compete at such an intense level has stoked my competitive fire!

Even though I don't ski or ice skate, I can picture myself being in front of the crowd, feeling the thrill of the competition, and having a great performance. I do that when i run, too. I imagine having a perfect race and breaking the tape and screaming and all that jazz. I thought for a while this was just another facet of my extreme daydreaming, but Erin Marston from the Denver Athletic Club mentioned that visualization can be a handy tool in marathon training! So, on with the daydreams! If only this worked for powerball...

Happy Training and I hope to see you all in May!
