Transportation and Parking

Road Closures: Travel on Colfax Avenue will be restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction. Traffic will resume normal patterns as soon as it is safe for athletes, spectators and motorists.  For more information, please click here.  

RTD: The marathon will cause delays on RTD routes that run on and/or cross Colfax Avenue. Call 303-299-6000 or visit RTD-Denver.com “Detours and Alerts” for full details.

Where to park: 
Marathoners and Half Marathoners:  Park in the lots at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science or the east lots of the Denver Zoo. Additional parking can be found at National Jewish Medical Center at 1400 Jackson Street / Colorado Blvd. and Colfax Avenue.  Plan to park before 5 a.m. to ensure a spot. 

Ride Your Bike:   Ride your bike into Denver's City Park and park it in bike lot supervised by Bike Denver.

Relay Team Parking Information 
Leg 1: East High School; walk to City Park
 
Leg 2: East High School; take shuttle to Exchange Zone 

Leg 3: St. Anthony’s (16th & Perry); walk to Colfax & Depew
Take I-70 east or west to Federal Boulevard and go south on Federal to 17th Street. Turn right and go west on 17th Street to Perry. Turn left on Perry and proceed to 16th Street and turn right into the parking lots.
 
Leg 4: Wal-Mart Store at Colfax & Teller; walk to Colfax & Wadsworth
Take I-70 east or west to Wadsworth Boulevard and go south on Wadsworth to 19th Street. Turn left on 19th Street and proceed to Teller. Turn right on Teller to parking lot. 

Leg 5: East High School; take shuttle to St. Anthony’s & walk to Sloan’s Lake We have new transportation options available this year, so please read this entire section carefully:


Creatively, some teams have chosen to have a designated “Team Driver and Team Vehicle” to deliver team members to each relay exchange zone and then provide transportation back to those respective drop off areas. If that becomes a team’s plan, it is best to pick-up or drop the team member off adjacent to the parking areas for the respective legs of the relay.

Shuttles: There will be a shuttle to transport runners between City Park and St. Anthony's parking lots. There will also be shuttles to transport runners between St. Anthony's and the parking lots at Teller and Garrison. See below for more details.
