URBAN 10 MILER

The Urban 10 Miler is a fast, challenging race - for runners only - along the final miles of  the marathon course!  This is the ultimate urban tour - abbreviated.  Epic stadium run through. Downtown Denver. Confluence and Cherry Creek, and one big afterparty with 10,000 of your closest friends. Sleep in, because you get a later start time - and it's a staggered start, filtering runners one by one into the ongoing marathon.  If you’re looking for a challenge at a shorter distance - with an awesome urban course - this is the race for you. But don’t think about it too long: we will offer a limited number of spots at $59 for the Urban 10 Miler in this inaugural year!

Take the photo tour and experience Colfax for yourself.

NEW in 2012

The Urban 10 Miler is a first in 2012! Be part of marathon weekend’s festivities at a shorter - but still challenging - distance. With a late start, you’ll join the marathon in progress for a fun, fast run through downtown - including the stadium run through! There are a limited number of spots available.

Who's it for?

For runners wanting to be a part of marathon weekend, festivities, and fervor!   Runners love the downtown course, but not everyone wants 26.2 miles. This is a race for runners looking for a challenge at a shorter distance - with a downtown course. The individual start means runners will be chip timed and enter the marathon in progress one by one. Runners only, please- no walkers.

Photo Tour

The race starts in an  'individual wave start'  at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design campus, where outdoor art mixes with great architecture. Runners pass Lakewood Steam Baths, and wonderful street art such as the barber pole man and the gigantic gorilla face, with terrific panoramic views of Denver's skyline. Runners head straight into Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium for an epic stadium run through, then cross over to run on the Platte River by Elitches and Confluence Park. Then the course rejoins the Cherry Creek Trail, passing "Venice on the Creek" punting. Exiting at Lawrence takes runners on a fun tour across the 16th Street Mall, under the Tabor Center, and then uphill out 17th Avenue until they enter City Park at 21st, with the grand finale between beautiful Ferril Lake and the vast meadows next to the Museum of Nature and Science.
