Starting April 26, Marathon Month will kick-off for all the local Colfax businesses.

Taj Moore has only lived in Denver for a year, but he's already fallen in love.
"I fell in love with Colfax immediately," said Moore.

Even though the object of his affection is a street, it has a complexity of character that rivals any human's.

"There's so many dimensions to what makes the Colfax experience," he said.

Spend any evening on Colfax Avenue and it's easy to see those dimensions in action. From rowdy concert-goers to sophisticated art connoisseurs, Colfax attracts them all.

It's that diversity that Moore finds alluring.

One of the reasons the Colorado Colfax Marathon was created by the cities of Aurora, Denver and Lakewood was to shine a positive spotlight on the small businesses on Colfax.

Tomorrow is earth day, and we can't think of a better place to greet the morning than at Hooked on Colfax at Colfax & Steele.

"This artsy coffee shop does all the things that hip patrons love: They exhibit local art, offer free WiFi, let folks linger over their laptops and journals, and showcase area bands and performers.
