FirstBank is making a huge entrance this year, with 14 relay teams registered so far, including: Charlie's FirstBank Angels, The Second Wind Team, Tech Runners, "Keep on Goin'," Team FirstBank of Cherry Creek, Team FirstBank of Lakewood, Team FirstBank of Littleton, The FirstBank Senior Striders, Team “Run4Ever,” Team Brady, Team FirstBank Greeley, "60 to lose $50" from FirstBank Summit County, “The Runs” from Aurora, and last but not least, making their Colfax debut, “Little Smokies” from Centennial.
We asked Matthew from “Little Smokies” about the race, and here’s what he had to say.
Q: Are you ready for the race?
A: Yeah, we are going major this year.
Q: Is this your first Colfax?
A: Yes indeed. The entire team are rookies to the marathon. That makes us dangerous, nobody will know what to expect.
Q: How's the training coming?
A: Beautiful, we are all running twice a week and some of us more than that. We have trained in cold and beaming sun so no matter what the weather is we will be prepared.
Q: Who's the team you're hoping to beat?
A: The Runs. They are the other team for Aurora and they have to go down. Aurora is a very competitive charter so we must have victory over them for bragging rights.
