The corner of Colfax & Steele used to be a place neighbors avoided after dark. Not anymore.

Thanks to an influx of new restaurants, café’s and shops -- like longtime resident Goosetown, newcomers Café Star, Atomic Cowboy, Sengers, Hooked on Colfax, Mezcal, Twist & Shout, Encore, Neighborhood Flix, cupcake shop Lovely Confections and, of course, The Tattered Cover -- the neighborhood has a whole new vibe.

Just call it The Bluebird Beat.

Nighttime brings crowds of the young and hip – but this is also a neighborhood with plenty of kids, and they come out in force for events like the Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, May 24.

Part of the Colorado Colfax Marathon’s mission is to shine a positive spotlight on Colfax Avenue – the residents and the businesses that make Colfax come alive.

Over 60 small Colfax businesses have come together to celebrate Marathon Month with a series of block parties and events with their neighbors. The festivities start at the Colorado Colfax Marathon, where you can pick up your Colfax Passport. Get it stamped at local businesses all month long, and turn it in at the People’s Fair on June 8th for big prizes.
