Runner's Edge: Saturday Run

Run with a group
Training with a group is a great way to get ready for a marathon.

If you want to check out one of our official trainers, Runner's Edge, they're doing a group run this Saturday, March 15, from the Stapleton Town Center at 7:30 a.m. Contact Coach David if you want to try out a complimentary run.

You'll get a customized map of the run, Gatorade and water stations every two miles, a pace group to run with, motivation and mental support, and meet a great group of runners.

WHEN:
This Saturday March 15th, 7:30am. Please plan on arriving by 7:15am to warm-up with some light stretching and hear a quick training tip. This week we have a special guest; Dr. Brett Pudom, AKA "The Foot Mechanic" will be out to talk a bit about the biomechanical assessment service that he offers, and how it can be very beneficial in preventing injuries and maximizing your performance.

WHERE:
Central Denver -- Stapleton Town Center. Specifically, we will be meeting in the middle of the Stapleton Town Center on 29th and Roslyn Street. (The closest major intersection is Quebec and 29th.) Look for the group at the fountain and stone park on the corner of 29th & Roslyn Street. Your best bet for close parking is BEHIND Chipotle on the south side of 29th, about 70-100 meters away from the fountain.
MAP

ROUTE:
This is a beautiful, slightly flat (with just a few gradual rollers), out-and-back route through the streets of Park Hill & City Park. We will have Water/Gatorade aid stations along the route every 2 miles as normal, and there are restrooms at the start/finish (Starbucks/Einsteins/King Soopers), and then at multiple points in City Park.

MILEAGE:
Please check your individual training schedules - The max the course will be set to this Saturday is 12 miles. The bonus with this route layout is that members who may want to reduce their long run (in prep for Runnin' of the Green on Sunday), can run the entire route to the 12M turnaround point, but then cross Colorado Blvd. and rejoin the route on the east side. Doing this will give you approx. 9M total for the workout.
