Don't Pet Me, I'm Working

Freedom Service Dogs
Hey animal lovers, check out our charity partner, Freedom Service Dogs in Englewood.

They rescue dogs from local shelters and train them to be service dogs for people with disabilities. They have 12 dogs in training right now, but not all of them are cut out to be service dogs. Some of them just can't resist the urge to chase the occassional squirrel, and those dogs are available for adoption, too. (So if you've been thinking about adopting a puppy, think about adopting a well-trained dog from Freedom Service Dogs instead!)

Team "Freedom Service Dogs'" goal is to raise funds to match one client with a custom-trained service dog. The average cost for a full-fledged service dog is $25,000. Plus, they just expanded into a new facility with room for 40 dogs!

If you run for their team, you can ask to get the same t-shirt their dogs wear. It says, "Don't pet me, I'm working."

They'll have their dogs at the finish line to cheer you on, so say hello on Race Day.
