City Councilwoman Jeanne Robb invites her constituents to join her at a Water Station

If you live in District # 10, Jeanne Robb has a message for you!

"Dear Constituents,

"Denver, Aurora and Lakewood are joining to support the third annual Post-News Colorado Colfax Marathon on Sunday, May 18, 2008. This is an important event that celebrates the revitalization of America’s longest continuous street — Colfax Avenue. The route this year has been redesigned in response to comments from runners in last year’s race. The course for the full-marathon will start and finish in Denver’s beautiful City Park, and will take walkers, joggers and runners along Colfax through Lakewood, and downtown Denver. The half-marathon will be run east along Colfax to Fitzsimmons and back to City Park. The course highlights interesting historic sites along Colfax and, of course, views of the majestic Rocky Mountains.

"A one-mile fun run/walk event will be held in conjunction with the marathon on Saturday, May 17, 2008 for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Training programs are available for different age groups that include nutrition and training tips.

"THIS YEAR I INVITE YOU TO JOIN ME AT A WATER STATION I’M SPONSORING AT COLFAX AND VINE. Marathoners will be running by between 6:02 am and 6:26 am. So if you join me at 5:30 am, I promise to provide coffee, donuts, and t-shirts! I’m also inviting the first 5 people who volunteer to join me at the Mayor’s Kickoff Breakfast on Thursday morning, May 15, in City Park, 7:30 – 9:00 am. Please respond to my office at 303-377-1807 or to me at jeanne.robb@denvergov.org
