      <title>It's not too late to start training</title>
      <description>&lt;span class="normal"&gt;&lt;img width="200" height="90" border="0" alt="" src="/portal/Portals/0/blog_images/2007colfax_training.jpg" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
If you are a regular runner and could manage a 8 or 9 mile run, you're still in contention for the Colfax Marathon.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If you can run 4-5 miles, you're in good shape for the Half Marathon.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
And even if you haven't ever run, you can still train for the 5K leg of the Relay Team!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
There are two official training groups for Colfax, and we'll be bringing you information about both of them. One is &lt;a target="new" href="http://www.runnersedgeoftherockies.com/"&gt;Runner's Edge,&lt;/a&gt; and the other is &lt;a target="new" href="http://denvergalloway.shorturl.com/"&gt;Denver Galloway&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
What's the difference?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;a target="new" href="http://www.jeffgalloway.com/about_jeff/index.html"&gt;Jeff Galloway&lt;/a&gt; is a marathon runner and trainer and author who basically says you can train better and safer with a running program where you take walk breaks as you build up your mileage.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
"When you register for the Galloway program, you get one of Jeff's marathon training books, a training journal, training schedule, Mizuno tech shirt, and a one year subscription to Runner's World," explains Denver Galloway's Mike Costas.  "In addition you get to run with some of the best folks in Denver who really care and will help you reach your dream of finishing a marathon."&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;a target="new" href="http://www.runnersedgeoftherockies.com/mainpages/about.htm/"&gt;Runner's Edge,&lt;/a&gt; is a group of Denver runners who believe that running might be an individual sport, but it doesn't mean you have to train alone.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
" We rotate our group workouts around the metro area," says &lt;a target="new" href="http://www.runnersedgeoftherockies.com/mainpages/about.htm"&gt;Runner's Edge Coach David Manthey&lt;/a&gt;. "You get a customized training schedule. We have different pace groups, aid stations every 2 miles stocked with water and Gatorade, guest speakers, social events, and T-shirts."&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Both groups offer coaching, nutrition, equipment and gear tips.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
