Spotted on the course

Congratulations to the winner of the Colorado Colfax Marathon for the second year in a row, Justin Mock, with a time of 2:43:27 -- a PR and 10 minutes faster than his 2007 time! Best of luck at the Steamboat Marathon on June 1 and the Estes Park Marathon two weeks later.

And to Lisa Marie Goldsmith, above, who won the women's marathon with a time of 3:12:50.

Peter Vail winning the men's half-marathon

Brad Cooper of the relay team for US Corporate Wellness -- he ran the final 12K leg and brought the team in at an impressive 2:38:59, which means they were the fastest relay team in any category. Congratulations!

Kerry Kuck and his guide, Jackie Hjelden of Rocky Mountain Road Runners completing the half-marathon. Kerry, who is completely blind, started with the Wheelchair racers to give him a clear start, and said it helps a lot, allowing him to run hard the first couple of miles instead of trying to steer clear of other runners. He set a PR on the course with a time of 2:48:01. Since most of the wheelchairs were participating in the NATIONAL Full marathon going west, very few went east on the Half marathon course. This meant Jackie and Kerry had the race course to themselves for about a mile. A motorcycle cop came up to them as they cruised along and warned them that they had better watch out, there was a marathon coming up behind them! Jackie was irritated but Kerry just found it amusing. I guess the fact the shiny Mercedes-Benz convertible PACE CAR was just ahead of them didn’t impress the cop, either!

Nicole Moore and her mom, Becky. They ran a realy team, Nicole's Sweet Peas. Nicole has cerebral palsy, so her physical therapists and occupational therapists from her Denver public school formed a relay team and pushed her along the course.

And many, many more!
