Connecting People to Life
The American Transplant Foundation is a national non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization that works to increase the donation of organs and tissue to reduce the growing list of men, women and children who are waiting for a life-saving transplant. Our supporters help the Foundation to raise awareness about organ donation, build collaborative efforts, and work towards better public policy.
The American Transplant Foundation began with the personal journey of Denver attorney Steve Farber who was the recipient of a kidney transplant. Unique from other organizations that promote organ donation, the Foundation doesn’t focus on specific organs or solely on donor awareness, but goes beyond these areas to proactively tackle policy issues to eliminate the gap between the critical need for organs and their supply, ultimately saving lives. Currently there are more than 98,000 Americans waiting to receive a life-saving transplant, 1800 of whom live in Colorado. By joining our team, you will help us spread the message that being an organ donor matters, and that both transplant recipients and living donors can lead healthy, active lives.

| Charity Partner Goal |
Our goal for the Colfax Marathon is to raise $50,000. To achieve this goal, we are asking each of our racers to raise a minimum of $500 for the American Transplant Foundation to support community-based education and awareness programs. |
| How to Participate |
If you would like to participate in either the full-marathon, the half-marathon or relay race in support of the American Transplant foundation, there are two steps:
1) Designate the American Transplant Foundation as your charity when you register. Please click here to register.
2) Direct your supporters to www.americantransplantfoundation.org. to make their 100% tax-deductible donation online. Ask them to click on the “Make a Donation” page and to write Colfax Marathon and your name in the “Miscellaneous Info” box. This will allow us to keep track of the funds you raise. If you would like to run with a relay team but do not have a full team, let us know and we can help. We also welcome anyone who would like to volunteer to help support our team. |

Each of our runners, walkers, and volunteers will receive:
- A special team t-shirt
- A pre-race pasta party to carbo-load before the big event
- A Racer’s Toolkit to help you fundraise
- Top fundraisers will receive special prizes for their efforts after the race!
