WELCOME TO THE 2008 POST-NEWS COLORADO COLFAX MARATHON

Sunday, May 18, 2008 in Denver, Denver 's City Park

A BRIEF OVERVIEW

Events:  The Post-News Colorado Colfax Marathon includes a full marathon (26.2 miles), a half marathon (13.1 miles) and a 5-person team relay (individual legs of 10K, 5K, 10K, 5K, and 12K)

New Course:  Based on runner feedback and with expert help from a runners’ advisory group, we have redesigned the racecourses.  We have a single start/finish for the marathon and half-marathon, no hard hills at the end, more shade and great neighborhood diversity.  There is no net elevation gain.   The course is a USATF certified and sanctioned course and serves as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

Start Time and Weather:
All running races will begin at 6:00 am. The wheelchair championship will start at 5:55 am.  Expect the temperature at the start to be in the 50s and 60s.

Cancellation:  Entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.  Sorry, no exceptions.

Packet Pickup:  Packets must be picked up in advance of the race during the Post-News Colorado Colfax Marathon Health and Fitness Expo.  Stop by on Friday, May 16 from noon to 7:00 pm or on Saturday, May 17 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Denver's City Park in Marathon Village.

Transportation:  The 2008 course starts and finishes in Denver’s City Park.  There will be transportation from the start/finish to each relay exchange zone and from the relay exchange zone back to the start/finish.
