Municipal Division
– Aurora Mayor Ed Tauer, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper and Lakewood Mayor Bob Murphy invite every city and town in Colorado to compete for the 2008 Municipal Cup, May 18th as part of the Post/News Colorado Colfax Marathon. Your five person relay team may be comprised of your mayor, council members, city employees, family members or colleagues. Register in the men’s division, the women’s division or mixed division (minimum of two of different gender).
Your city/town could take home a trophy and bragging rights as well as fun stories and memories of the 2008 team. This race is all about having fun with your colleagues, competition with other towns and cities and most importantly giving your runners incentive to get some healthy exercise.
The five-person relay teams will run 10K (6.2 miles), 5K (3.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles), 5K (3.1miles), and 12K (7.45 miles) distances. Form as many teams as you like, just be sure to be able to distinguish one team from another re: Denver1, Denver 2, etc. Use the same registration procedure as other relay teams but specifically note on your registration that your team is part of the Municipal Cup representing your specific town or city. Municipal teams can also raise money for charities thru our Charity Partner Program without having to run in the Charity Division. See Charity Program details for more information.
